Kornhausplatz 18, 3011 Bern

The Bernese Kornhaus was built between 1711 and 1718 and is regarded as one of the best examples of Bernese High Baroque style. The three upper stories were used as a granary, while the cellars were devoted to the storage of wine and casks. Now the building serves as a gastronomical venue.

The city of Bern

Switzerland is in the middle of Europe, and Bern is in the heart of Switzerland

Bern is a charming city. The rather stress-free atmosphere and the manageable size of the town renders Bern an ideal place for this meeting. There are a number of attractions, such as the old town in the center which is part of the UNESCO world heritage, one of the oldest clocktowers (Zytglogge) in Europe, the bear park, several museums such as the Zentrum Paul Klee or the Einstein museum, and a stunning view over the river with the Alps in the background. The mountains are only a short drive away, with trains reaching the Jungfrau region within an hour.

Bern is a rather relaxed place, time is not an issue. Distances within the city are relatively short, many sites, restaurants and shops are within walking distance, but there is an excellent bus and tram system. The train station is directly reachable from the main airports in Geneva, Zürich or Basel, and international trains such as TGV and ICE are frequently stopping in Bern. There is also a small international airport.
